Senior Test Assurance Lead
South London/Remote - Hybrid working.
£75,000 - £80,000 per annum + Bonus

Digital Skills is partnering with a leading consultancy engaged in a critical program within a central government department. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Test Assurance Lead to join our client's team.

You will assure third-party testing processes and deliverables on behalf of our clients, ensuring compliance with quality standards and technical requirements. This strategic role requires leadership in integrating testing seamlessly into development life cycles, collaborating with digital and Agile teams.

The company provides services to a range of end clients, including the UK Public Sector. As such, candidates must be available to undergo Government SC Security Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assure third-party testing efforts for compliance with quality standards and technical requirements.
• Integrate third-party testing seamlessly into development life cycles, collaborating with digital and Agile teams.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, negotiate testing timelines, and communicate progress and results effectively.
• Forge relationships with other departments to influence shift left practices.
• Define and implement best practices for various testing types, including unit, system, and non-functional testing.
• Review and approve test strategies, plans, scripts, and deliverables from third-party vendors.
• Create assurance checklists for consistent evaluation of third-party testing deliverables.
• Develop and maintain Test Assurance metrics to measure effectiveness and efficiency.
• Mentor and train junior QA team members.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders on testing strategies, results, and risk assessments.
• Produce comprehensive Assurance Test reports with recommendations for improvement.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in software testing and quality assurance in digital and Agile environments.
• Proven track record of managing third-party testing relationships.
• Familiarity with tools for generating testing reports and dashboards eg Confluence, Jira etc.
• Strong understanding of AWS infrastructure and cloud-based applications.
• Expertise in various testing types including unit, system, contract-based, and non-functional testing.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
• Certifications such as ISTQB Advanced, Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
• Experience in a regulatory or compliance-heavy industry.
• AWS Certification (nice to have)
