We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer specializing in Artificial Intelligent Systems (SE4AI) to join the team on behalf of global technology provider. The ideal candidate will leverage systems engineering principles and methodologies to develop safe, robust, and efficient AI systems across various industries. This role requires a solid understanding of AI techniques and industrial experience in fields such as autonomous driving, medicine, space, or robotics.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge in AI techniques such as knowledge representation, automated planning, decision making, deep learning, and probabilistic methods for uncertain reasoning.
  • Utilize industrial experience and background to contribute to the development of AI systems in various domains, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Embed AI in complex systems of systems (SoS) and/or teams, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Design AI systems across their life cycle, including maintenance and sustainment principles.
  • Develop measures of trust, focusing on explainability, interpretability, and bidirectionality in human-AI collaborative systems.
  • Address critical aspects of safety, reliability, and ethical considerations in AI system development and deployment.
  • Understand the evolving role of digital engineering and its impact on the systems engineering workforce in an AI-driven landscape.
  • Utilize Large Language Models (LLMs) as co-pilots for systems modelling and engineering tasks.
  • Implement cognitive assistants, including conversational systems, to automate mundane tasks and workflows beyond LLMs.
  • Conduct Test and Evaluation (T&E) across the life cycle of AI systems, ensuring performance and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Solid knowledge and expertise in AI techniques, with a focus on knowledge representation, automated planning, decision making, deep learning, and probabilistic methods.
  • Proven industrial experience in fields such as autonomous driving, medicine, space, or robotics.
  • Familiarity with system design processes supporting AI across the life cycle, including maintenance and sustainment.
  • Understanding of measures of trust in AI systems, including explainability and interpretability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to safety, reliability, and ethical considerations.
  • Experience with digital engineering tools and methodologies is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
