Security Specialist

Remote Office

Contract - to - Hire

NOTE: This position will convert to FT, career contractors need not apply.

We are a leading provider of electronic content management and exchange solutions and services, with one of the largest national archives of digital information in the cloud. We are seeking an Information Security Specialist to work as part of the Security team to:

  • Configure and manage security tools to meet application and security objectives
  • Perform security audits of operating system and application configurations
  • Create security tool design documentation
  • Support application teams with security configuration changes
  • Design Firewall configurations to meet application and security objectives
  • Review Firewall requests from application teams
  • Support and troubleshoot single sign-on configurations
  • Review security logs and alerts and address identified issues

Required:

5-10 years technical experience with security tools, technologies and processes, including:

  • 2+ years experience with Splunk
  • 2+ years experience with Tripwire and/or Tenable
  • 2+ years experience with Cisco Firepower and/or Cisco ASA firewalls
  • Good knowledge of Linux and Windows Systems. Demonstrate knowledge of logging, auditing and secure configurations.
  • Experience with scripting, in PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Perl, etc.
  • Experience with VMware NSX and/or Software-Defined Networking.
  • Good knowledge of single sign-on protocols, standards and process flows
  • Good knowledge of virtualization

Additional desired experience/qualifications:

  • Technical BS degree and/or Security related certifications
  • Experience with Tomcat
  • Experience with Oauth
  • Experience with PingFederate Administration
  • Experience with VMWare tools (Vsphere, SnapMirror, etc.)
  • Experience with Cisco Ironport email gateways.
  • Experience with Syslog-NG
  • Experience with Active Directory configuration/management
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment/scanning
  • Experience as part of a project team.
  • Experience writing and producing design and process documentation.
  • Experience training and advising junior staff
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
